orange cake

cream together 3 oz butter, 3 oz sugar o grated with 1 large orange.
add 3 eggs one at a time beating well. Mix 1 tb. B.P. with 1 1/2 cups sifted, add gradually to mixture beating well. Add juice of orange or two if preferred but not to make the mixture too liquid. Reserve a little juice to make icing sugar. Bake in moderate oven. Ice.

ribbon cake

1 1/2 teaspoonful cocoa
4 oz butter
5 oz sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 teaspoonful baking powder
cochincal
salt

cream butter & sugar, add eggs beating all the time, lastly stir in baking powder. Colour one part pink, one with cocoa, leave one natural, put in greased tinds and bake in moderate oven.
